‘Archaic Temple’

Materials: Plexiglass / Neon

Building on my architectural influences, this work was inspired by the Old Temple of Athena, located on the Acropolis of Athens. The flow of the curves mimics the vast riches of temples past, saturating the open space below with vibrant colour. The journey through the arches of ‘Archaic Temple’, with its changing light, exhibits the simple power of neon gas, where five distinct colours merge together to radiate a kaleidoscope of intricate gradient visual delight. This piece serves as in complement and juxtaposition to the Ocean Drive Collection, standing side by side and showing how contemporary design styles can be inspired by ancient yet ageless architectural forms, can be reimagined for the 21st century, providing a visual example of how the evolution in design, aesthetics and architecture can be presented in a continuous narrative.
